Sparkr is a marketing and digital studio in Utrecht. We work with organisations whose value sits in what they know and what they build, and whose hardest problem is making that legible to the people who need it.
How Sparkr came to life
Sparkr was started by Federico Spiezia after five years as co-founder of Bittiq, a Dutch fintech that started as a consumer app and became a SaaS product before it was sold in 2017. He was responsible for strategy, business development, product, UX and marketing, which in a small company means doing all of them at the same time.
That period shaped how the studio works today. Building a product taught the difference between a marketing plan that looks good in a document and one that survives a real launch. It also taught that the thing holding a company back is rarely the idea. It is usually that nobody outside the company can see what makes the idea good.
Before that, Federico studied law, which is where the data protection and compliance side of the studio comes from. It is an unusual background for a marketing studio and it turns out to be useful more often than expected, especially for clients working with public funding, research data or European institutions.
Our clients work with specialists, not with a bench
Most organisations we work with have very specific needs at specific moments. Solving them takes someone who can think strategically and knows enough about technology to point you to the right solution rather than the familiar one. That's what Sparkr is built around. Delivery runs through a small group of senior experts who've worked with the studio for years. Sparkr brings in a curated network of specialist when a project needs something outside that group. This blend of core team and network lets us match very specific needs, so clients pay for the service, not the overhead of a general consultancy.
